Eligibility
The Medicinal Plant Show Competition is open to all current IIUC students. Teams of three students may enter the contest. A student may only be participated in one team.

Competition Rules
  • Each team must submit an abstract of plant information mentioning common name, scientific name and important features of the plant (500 word limit) in registration form link.
  • Plant description with useful active parts, isolation process and therapeutic activities.
  • A plant should have isolated bioactive compound with marketed product.
  • Presentation method includes live plants and parts with fruits and flowers (if available), mini poster, video etc.
  • Registration fee ৳620/- per team (bKash send money to 01754088163, personal)
  • Not more than THREE members in each team.
  • Number of plants is maximum FIVE for the show.
  • Present the show in front of the judges and guests during event time.
  • Medium of presentation is English and must carry student ID card.


Judging Criteria Medicinal Plant Show Competition
Judges will be asked to consider the following criteria for scoring. All decisions by judges are final.
  • 1. Ethnopharmacological/ ethnobotanical uses: Specify the scientific and local name and their uses as herbal medicine, phytochemistry, and pharmacological properties. That means participants should present all necessary information associated with the plant.
  • 2. Presentation: Considering how attractive and how many information about the plant may be.
  • 3. Feasibility of implementation as therapeutics: Assess the feasibility of implementation of the plant as therapeutics i.e. the easiness with which hurdle be conquered during implementation.
  • 4. Impact: Determine the possible impact of those medicinal plants in disease treatment and how it can contribute to modern treatment strategies with considering the economic benefit.


Disqualification
The committee for Medicinal Plant Show Competition reserves the right to reject any team that it determines direct copy/duplicate from internet or other sources and obscene or inappropriate contents. Previous Tech Fest, IIUC winning idea cannot be accepted.

  • Attractive prize money for the champion and runners-up teams.
